The Lewiston Hotel is situated on the banks of the scenic Trinity River, acclaimed for catch and release fly fishing. The Hotel dates back to 1862 when it opened as a stagecoach stop, saloon and stable. The original building was closer to the river and burned down in 1898. The Hotel was rebuilt on its present site in 1899.

It is rich in history and atmosphere of the old west. The gold rush excitement of miners, claim jumpers, and stagecoach robbers is evidenced by the blown safe and "hanging tree," out front. The antiques displayed on the grounds and inside the restaurant will speak to you of the hidden mysteries of those rough and ready days.

From it's very beginnings, the Hotel offered a welcome respite for weary travelers and miners flush with gold. This unique establishment is a treasure to the community that we want to preserve and share with residents and visitors to Trinity county. We invite you to stop by and see all that we have to off
er.

The Hotel's first floor is occupied by the restaurant and bar; both have spacious decks out back. You can relax, take in the view of the lawn, the river and the Trinity Alps while enjoying a wonderful meal or cool drink surrounded by the natural beauty of the area.
